LAYFRAME is a program for the efficient management of the user's design data as well as for convenient work with all LAYTOOLS programs in particular the Schematic Editor LAYCIR, the Layout Editor LAYED (version 6.0 and higher), and the Verification Tool LAYVER (version 5.2 and higher).
All user data for a specific design task is called a project referring to a specific technology (also called design kit in certain EDA software).
The approach of handling user design data in LAYFRAME is object-oriented meaning that based on a selected object (e.g. a design library, a library's cell, or a verification result) you can choose a desired action (e.g. copy, delete, edit, view, info).
LAYFRAME is an optional tool. Design tasks with less data and design function complexity can still be handled by directly calling editors.
The following gives the design flow of LAYFRAME
